Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC has acquired a portfolio of 16 hotels in Japan operated by Marriott International under the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand. The acquisition from KKR & Co. Inc.-managed funds was valued at approximately ¥125 billion, or about $800 million, according to citybiz.

Marriott International will continue to operate all 16 hotels under the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand post-acquisition. This maintains brand consistency and operational management at these properties.

Transaction Timing and Portfolio Details

The transaction was publicly disclosed by KKR just one week before confirming GIC as the buyer, and closed by late September 2026. The average implied

value per hotel in the portfolio is approximately ¥7.8 billion. KKR’s funds exited the 16-hotel Marriott portfolio in Japan, while GIC expanded its global property investments through this sizable hospitality acquisition.
