FAA Ground Stop Cancels 100+ Flights at Denver International Airport

Denver Airport Ground Stop Causes Over 100 Flight Cancellations Today

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop at Denver International Airport at 3:25 p.m. on Friday, expected to last until 6:30 p.m. Additionally, a ground delay began at 3 p.m. with an average delay of 104 minutes and is projected to continue until midnight.

Flight Cancellations and Storm Duration

More than 100 flights were cancelled at Denver International Airport amid the thunderstorm activity. The 11 Alert Weather Team reports that storms in the area are likely to persist through 10 p.m. Friday and into the overnight hours.

Cause of Disruption

The disruptions stem from severe thunderstorms impacting the Front Range region on Friday, prompting the FAA

to impose the ground stop and delay measures to manage air traffic safely.
