In early June 2026, numerous European airports experienced significant disruptions to their flight schedules, with reports indicating around 150 cancellations and upwards of 2,200 delays. These interruptions occurred across several countries including Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, France, and England.

Several major airlines were affected by these disruptions. Carriers such as Delta Airlines, American Airlines, Air France, and British Airways saw their operations on both transatlantic routes connecting Europe and the United States and on various intra-European flights impacted. This caused considerable complications for travelers navigating peak summer travel season.
