Multiple European countries, including Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and France, are planning coordinated transport strikes in mid-June 2026. These industrial actions are expected to disrupt various modes of transport such as flights, rail services, buses, and metro networks across the region.
Recent disruptions already reported show over 1600 flights delayed and more than 30 cancellations, impacting major airlines like Lufthansa, easyJet, and Ryanair. Key hubs affected include airports in Amsterdam and Zurich among others throughout Europe.
Widespread Effects on Air and Ground Transport
The strikes are not limited to aviation but extend to public transportation systems, adding pressure on rail lines and urban
transit services in the affected countries. Travelers should anticipate delays and possible cancellations in their travel plans, particularly at major airports and during mid-June when the strikes are scheduled.
As the situation develops, authorities and transport operators may provide further updates on service availability. Passengers are advised to stay informed through official channels ahead of any planned travel within Europe during this period.
