Existing Southampton Airport Connections

With the new routes, easyJet will operate 11 destinations from Southampton Airport during summer 2027. Current routes include Alicante, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Glasgow, Manchester, Paris Charles de Gaulle, and Palma de Mallorca.

Official Statements on Expansion

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK country manager, emphasized that the new flights will increase customer choice and connectivity from Southampton. Chris Tibbett, executive director of commercial aviation and marketing at Southampton Airport, welcomed easyJet’s commitment. He said, “We welcome easyJet’s investment in expanding its Southampton network from Summer 2027 with the introduction of three new routes to

Edinburgh, La Rochelle and Malaga.” Tibbett added the daily Edinburgh service will strengthen links between the south coast of England and Scotland.

Impact on Tourism and Connectivity

The new daily Southampton-Edinburgh route will support tourism, trade, investment, and the cruise sector, improving convenience and affordable travel options. This expansion reflects easyJet’s strategy to increase its presence at Southampton Airport and respond to demand for direct flights to popular holiday destinations.
