EasyJet is introducing seven new flight routes from five UK airports beginning November 2026, expanding air travel options amid industry challenges. The airports involved are Liverpool John Lennon, Manchester, Newcastle, London Southend, and London Luton.
Details of New Routes and Schedules
The Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Reykjavík route starts a twice-weekly winter service operating on Mondays and Fridays. Manchester Airport reintroduces flights to Nuremberg twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays until early January 2027. Newcastle Airport offers three new connections: Kraków with twice-weekly Monday and Friday services launched last month without a set end date, Marrakesh flying twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and Copenhagen
initiating twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays from November 5.
London Southend Airport commenced thrice-weekly flights to Belfast on November 2, operating Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays. London Luton Airport added twice-weekly flights to Rabat from November 5. Fares on these routes start as low as approximately £21.99, with other fares ranging between £22.99 and £64.
Statements from EasyJet and Airport Representatives
EasyJet’s UK Country Manager expressed satisfaction with launching the Liverpool to Reykjavík route, citing it as increased winter holiday options for customers in the North West. Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s Aviation Director described the new direct service to Iceland as a significant addition for the
regional market.
At Newcastle Airport, the Director of Aviation Development highlighted EasyJet’s growth resulting in 31 destinations since establishing a base there in March 2026 and welcomed the new winter routes. London Southend’s Business Development Director welcomed Belfast into the airport’s expanding route network, while EasyJet’s UK Country Manager noted Belfast’s appeal for both leisure and business travelers and predicted strong demand for the service connecting Belfast and London Southend.
Context of Route Launches and EasyJet’s Expansion
The new route launches occur amidst ongoing challenges in the aviation sector such as route reductions and increasing jet fuel prices. EasyJet’s expansion at Newcastle Airport is linked to its
March 2026 base opening, which has since quadrupled its route network there. Manchester’s reinstated Nuremberg route restores a direct UK connection to the German city for the first time since 2019.
Destinations served by the new routes cover popular winter holiday spots and city breaks, including Christmas markets in Nuremberg and cultural destinations such as Kraków, recently identified as an affordable European getaway during the holiday period. Moroccan cities Marrakesh and Rabat cater to travelers seeking winter sun.
Impact on Travelers and Route Affordability
From November 2026, travelers will have access to new EasyJet routes linking UK airports to seven international destinations. This opens direct connections
to Iceland, Germany, Poland, Morocco, Denmark, and Northern Ireland. The frequency of flights ranges from twice to thrice weekly, providing options for winter holiday and business travel.
With fares starting at about £21.99 and rising to £64 depending on the route, these services offer competitive prices for travel in late 2026 and early 2027. The routes balance leisure and business demand by connecting key UK regions with both southern European and northern capitals.
