Dubai International Airport introduced the Click and Travel mobile immigration service on September 7, 2026, allowing passport officers to finalize entry and departure procedures in approximately 12 to 15 seconds using handheld devices.

Pilot Program and Service Expansion

The service underwent a pilot phase that started in October 2025 at Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport. By May 2026, Click and Travel was expanded to cover all passenger categories across the airport’s terminals. During the pilot period ending in August 2026, more than 31,000 passengers were processed through this system.

Technology and Mobility Advantages

Click and Travel leverages biometric fingerprint scanning, facial recognition, electronic passport readers, automated pre-screening, and

instant access to passenger data through a secure network. Officers equipped with mobile handheld devices can conduct immigration checks anywhere within the arrival and departure halls, eliminating the need for passengers to queue at fixed counters and enabling dynamic resource allocation based on passenger flow.

User Eligibility and Official Announcement

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai confirmed that the service is available to UAE citizens, residents, GCC nationals, and visitors. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri and Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti announced the official launch at a press conference marking the system’s introduction.

Dubai International Airport’s CEO noted that

the airport is on track to exceed 100 million passengers annually within 18 months, underscoring the importance of fast, flexible immigration services in supporting this growth.

For travelers, Click and Travel significantly reduces immigration wait times, allowing most passengers to complete checks in 12 to 15 seconds, thereby decreasing queues and providing more time for other travel activities.
