Disney Cruise Line has expanded its Onboard Offer Placeholder Reservation discount program to include eligible sailings through September 2027, according to BlogMickey.com – Disney World News, Photos, and Info. Guests applying a Placeholder Reservation to the newly added cruises can receive discounts of up to 25% off the voyage fare.
Placeholder Reservation Booking Process and Restrictions
The Placeholder Reservation program allows passengers currently on a Disney cruise to book a future voyage departing within 24 months. A refundable deposit of $250 per stateroom, paid while onboard, is required to hold a reservation. Discounts apply exclusively to the voyage fare, excluding taxes, fees, and port expenses. The
promotion prohibits combining these savings with other offers such as the Guaranteed Staterooms with Restrictions discount.
Booking is limited to one future cruise per household, with a maximum of two staterooms. At least one member from the original sailing party must be included in the new booking. Once a Placeholder Reservation converts to a confirmed booking, reversal is not permitted, and regular cancellation fees apply. Guests converting two staterooms for the same sailing must contact the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center, as online booking does not support this.
Expanded Itineraries and Increased Discounts
The updated discount list covers sailings in Bahamian, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Baja,
Alaskan, and Singapore waters. Some newly included voyages feature themed events such as Marvel Days at Sea and Pixar Days at Sea. Most eligible sailings offer a standard 10% discount, while select cruises provide deeper discounts of 20% or 25%. Concierge Staterooms in categories 02B and below on select sailings offer an additional 10% off the voyage fare with a Placeholder Reservation, subject to separate blockout dates.
Guests who previously applied a Placeholder Reservation to sailings now encompassed in the expanded list will receive automatic increases in discounts where applicable. Disney Cruise Line will issue refunds to the original payment
