Delta Air Lines announced it will begin nonstop flights connecting Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) with Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) starting March 27, 2027. This marks the first instance of nonstop air service between Austin and Paris.

Delta is the second-largest airline at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, trailing Southwest Airlines, and has expanded its presence in Austin dramatically over the past decade. The airline employs 3,200 workers across Texas and reported a 900% increase in operations at Austin-Bergstrom during the last ten years. Delta also increased passenger volume from Austin by nearly 15% between 2024 and 2025 and recently established

a flight attendant base in the city.

Delta plans to support the new route with infrastructure investments at Austin-Bergstrom, including opening a Delta Sky Club and launching the first Delta One lounge outside of a traditional hub. Joe Esposito, Delta’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, acknowledged that Austin’s rapid growth and travel trends influenced the expansion, stating, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” Austin-Bergstrom CEO Ghizlane Badawi emphasized that the new Paris flight responds to growing demand in Central Texas, noting it

provides easier access to destinations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including India. Senator Ted Cruz, who attended the announcement, described the route introduction as a “big damn deal,” linking it to Austin’s evolution into a major technology hub comparable to Silicon Valley.

The new nonstop service will allow travelers in Central Texas to reach Paris directly without layovers starting in spring 2027. The route also offers enhanced connectivity to international markets through Paris Charles de Gaulle, expanding global travel options for residents and businesses in the Austin area.
