Delta Air Lines announced it will begin nonstop flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Paris, France starting March 27, 2027. This marks Austin’s first-ever nonstop route directly to Paris, expanding Delta’s international service from the Texas capital.

Delta’s Growth in Austin and Texas

Delta currently employs 3,200 people across Texas. Over the past decade, its Austin workforce has increased by 900%, reflecting the city’s rapid expansion. Passenger volumes at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport grew nearly 15% from 2024 to 2025 on Delta flights, as the airline offers 32 routes from the airport. Recently, Delta opened a flight attendant base in Austin to support growing operations.

Official Statements on Austin’s Expansion and Airport Role

Joe Esposito,

Delta’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” U.S. Senator Ted Cruz called the announcement a “big damn deal,” emphasizing Austin’s transformation since 1957 and describing it as “powerful” and “becoming Silicon Valley.” Austin-Bergstrom CEO Ghizlane Badawi said the route reflects the region’s growth, stating it provides Central Texas greater access to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including India, where demand is strong.

Austin-Bergstrom Airport and Delta Investments

Delta is the second-largest carrier at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, trailing only

Southwest Airlines. The airline plans to open a new Delta Sky Club and the first-ever Delta One lounge outside a hub in Austin, signaling significant investment in airport infrastructure. These enhancements aim to meet growing travel demand tied to Central Texas’s population and economic expansion.

The new nonstop flight to Paris enhances international connectivity from Austin, providing easy access not only to France but facilitating connections to major global markets across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.
