Delta Air Lines will start nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Paris, France, on March 27, 2027. This marks the first nonstop flight on this route, expanding international travel options from Austin, Texas.
Delta’s Growing Presence in Austin
Delta has significantly grown its operations in Austin, increasing passenger numbers by nearly 15% from 2024 to 2025. The airline currently manages 32 routes from Austin-Bergstrom and employs 3,200 people across Texas. Over the last ten years, Delta’s Austin operations have increased by 900%, reflecting robust market growth. Additionally, the airline will open a new flight attendant base in Austin to support its expanding services.

Esposito, Delta’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, acknowledged Austin’s rapid growth and expressed the airline’s intent to support it, saying, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” U.S. Senator Ted Cruz described the announcement as a “big damn deal” and compared current Austin to its 1957 era, stating the city has transformed into a powerful economic hub akin to Silicon Valley. Austin-Bergstrom CEO Ghizlane Badawi emphasized the benefits the new Paris route will bring, noting it provides greater international connectivity, including to Europe,
Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, especially India.
Airport Expansion and Route Context
Delta is the second-largest airline at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, following Southwest Airlines. To accommodate growing passenger demand, Delta plans to open new lounge facilities at the airport, including a Delta Sky Club and its first Delta One lounge outside a hub location. This investment coincides with Austin’s rapid economic and population growth, which has driven increased demand for international air service.
