Travelers affected by the JFK nonstop flight cancellations can expect alternative arrangements, including rerouting through New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) or receiving full refunds on those flights. Delta stated it will contact impacted customers directly to provide options. Passengers are advised to review
their bookings via the Fly Delta app or the airline’s online portal to find updated itineraries and rebooking possibilities. Differences in ground transportation and parking between JFK and LGA may affect travelers shifting airports.
Delta Operations at LaGuardia Continue
Delta continues to operate nonstop flights from LaGuardia Airport to Houston, Memphis, and St. Louis. These routes remain active for passengers seeking direct service to these hubs from New York City, despite the JFK route discontinuations.
New Service Launches and Fare Changes
Effective November 21, 2026, Delta will begin nonstop flights from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) near Fort Myers. The service will be
operated with Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets. This route adds to Delta’s growing network from RDU just ahead of the Thanksgiving travel period.
In addition, Delta has introduced “Basic fares” for first class and business class cabins, offering economy seats with premium amenities at reduced prices compared to standard premium tickets. These fares include benefits such as Zone 1 boarding and 180-degree lie-flat seats with privacy suites on select aircraft. Joe Esposito, Delta’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, stated this program expands customer options for accessing premium products tailored to their trip needs.
A Delta spokesperson apologized for the
inconvenience caused by the JFK route changes and said the airline will directly contact affected passengers to assist with alternative travel arrangements.
