Delta Air Lines announced it will begin nonstop flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) starting March 27, 2027. This will be the first nonstop service linking Austin with Paris.
Delta’s Growth and Investments in Austin and Texas
Delta is the second-largest carrier at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, offering 32 routes from Austin. The airline has increased its passenger count at the Austin airport by nearly 15% between 2024 and 2025. Delta employs 3,200 people across Texas and has grown by 900% in Austin over the past decade. Recently, the company announced a new flight attendant base in Austin and plans to establish
a Delta Sky Club alongside a Delta One lounge at the airport. The Delta One lounge will be the first outside a hub facility.
Officials Cite Austin’s Growth as Key Factor for New Route
Joe Esposito, Delta’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said, “As you’ve grown your city, we have taken notice of your trends — and we want to be a part of it.” Ghizlane Badawi, CEO of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, emphasized the region’s expanding demand. She said the new nonstop service will offer Central Texas travelers convenient connections across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including India, where there is high demand from the
area.
Senator Ted Cruz Highlights Economic Impact
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, attending the announcement, called the route launch a “big damn deal”. He described Austin’s transformation, stating, “The Austin of 1957 bears no resemblance to the Austin of today.” Cruz said the city is becoming the equivalent of Silicon Valley and noted, “That is the investment a world-class city deserves; that means jobs here in Austin.” He added that connectivity to international destinations is vital to Austin’s ongoing economic success.
The new nonstop flight will provide Austin travelers faster, more direct access to Paris and facilitate connections to multiple global regions through Charles de Gaulle Airport.
