Delta Air Lines will begin new nonstop flights between Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Athens, Greece, as well as between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Venice, Italy, in 2027. The Detroit-Athens route starts June 8, 2027, operating three times weekly through October 28, 2027, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft outfitted with Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort+, and Main cabin seats. Boston-Venice flights begin May 7, 2027, with four flights per week until October 29, 2027, using Airbus A330-300 widebodies offering the same cabin classes.
Austin to Paris Daily Flights Begin March 2027
Delta will also launch daily nonstop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Paris
Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) from March 27, 2027. The route will operate during the summer season on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, featuring Delta’s full range of cabins including Delta One and Premium Select. This marks Austin’s first-ever nonstop flight to Paris, connecting customers to nearly 70 European, Indian, and African destinations via Delta’s partners.
Extended Transatlantic Season and Route Enhancements
Delta is extending its 2027 transatlantic season by starting some routes earlier in spring and continuing others later into fall or winter. Seasonal service from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) and Detroit to Rome will begin in early March 2027, followed by Seattle-Rome in April. New York JFK
routes to Catania, Porto, Prague, and Copenhagen will return earlier, alongside early restarts of Boston and Seattle to Barcelona and Atlanta to Edinburgh. Also, Detroit-Rome and JFK-Copenhagen will operate daily upon resumption, while Boston-Milan service will increase to daily in 2027. Cincinnati-Paris service is scheduled to run three times weekly through January to March 2027.
Boston and Detroit Route Network Expansion
Venice will become Delta’s 13th unique long-haul destination from Boston during peak summer and the 12th in continental Europe. Boston thus becomes Delta’s third U.S. gateway offering nonstop flights to Venice, providing connections to nearly 20 U.S. destinations. The airline’s strengthened Italian network includes up
to 17 peak-day U.S. departures and over 30,000 nonstop weekly seats to Italy. Detroit’s new Athens service marks its 12th unique long-haul destination and seventh within continental Europe, while becoming its fourth U.S. gateway to Greece.

The new routes increase nonstop options for travelers from Detroit and Boston to Europe, along with expanded seasonality for flexibility. Delta Vice President of International Network Planning Jeff Arinder said, “Customers continue to seek more flexibility, convenience and choice when traveling to Europe, whether they are planning a spring escape, a summer vacation or a fall getaway.” He added that establishing Austin as a
European gateway and extending service on popular routes offer customers more travel opportunities. Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton highlighted that the Detroit-Athens nonstop flight opens new tourism, business, and cultural opportunities for Southeast Michigan travelers.
