Cordelia Cruises launched its new cruise ship, Cordelia Sky, with a commercial start from Mumbai on 23 October 2026. The launch event drew over 1,500 attendees, including industry stakeholders and media representatives.
Fleet Expansion and Capacity Increase
Cordelia Sky is the second vessel in Cordelia Cruises’ fleet, marking the company’s expansion from a single-ship operation to two ships. The combined fleet of Cordelia Sky and Cordelia Empress offers 1,798 staterooms and can carry up to 3,596 passengers based on double occupancy. This represents a 126% increase in passenger capacity compared to the single-ship operation before Cordelia Sky joined the fleet.
Cordelia Sky measures approximately 258
metres in length and features 12 decks with 1,002 cabins. The ship is the largest in the company’s lineup and includes 11 bars and lounges.
Onboard Amenities and Dining
Cordelia Sky accommodates Indian traveller preferences with diverse dining options including Indian, Italian, international, vegetarian, and Jain cuisine. The vessel features live performances and theatrical shows staged at the Marquee Theatre.
Additional facilities include fitness and wellness centres, recreational zones, and a dedicated children’s play area named Cordelia Academy to engage younger guests.
Cruise Itineraries and Homeport Expansion
Following the launch, Cordelia Sky operates short sea breaks of two nights, three-night cruises to Goa, four-night Lakshadweep island cruises, and five-night
itineraries combining Goa and Lakshadweep. The ship’s first commercial sailing departed Mumbai on 23 October 2026.
The company has designated Kochi as the new homeport for Cordelia Empress to expand cruise options from southern India. From Kochi, sailings will include weekend getaways, Lakshadweep Island visits to Minicoy and Kavaratti, and international cruises covering destinations such as the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
