The former Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake at 3000 E NASA Parkway in Bay Area Houston started a major renovation in mid-August 2026 to become Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Nassau Bay. The project aims to reposition the property as a destination resort in the Clear Lake community near NASA/Space Center Houston.
Hotel Expansion and Amenities
After the renovation, the property will feature 229 guestrooms along with four Margaritaville-branded restaurants. Planned resort-style amenities include a lazy river, conference and meeting facilities, marina access, boat parking, and an on-site store. The guestrooms will be fully reimagined to complement the resort atmosphere.
Ownership and Operational Changes
Nassau Bay Resorts LLC acquired
the hotel property in 2025 and initiated preparations for renovation by laying off all employees effective July 31, 2026. The layoffs were a necessary step to facilitate the large-scale transformation of the hotel.
Official Statements and Guest Experience
Kam Miramadi, CEO of Nassau Bay Resorts LLC, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are excited to introduce Compass Hotel Nassau Bay and bring this new destination to the Clear Lake community, just minutes from NASA/Space Center Houston.” He added that the hotel will provide a welcoming and locally inspired guest experience for visitors, business travelers, and locals.
The renovation is expected to cause service disruptions
during the transition, but post-renovation guests will gain access to expanded facilities and enhanced hospitality offerings.
Margaritaville Expansion in Texas
The Margaritaville brand is concurrently expanding its presence in Texas with development of a $250 million, 334-room property on Galveston Island. It also opened the Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Crystal Beach in 2022, indicating ongoing growth in the region’s resort market.
