A hotel in Houston’s Bay Area is undergoing extensive renovations to become Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Nassau Bay, a destination resort expected to open in late 2027. The property, located at 3000 E NASA Parkway in the Clear Lake community, was formerly the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake and is now owned by Nassau Bay Resorts LLC.

The renovated hotel will feature 229 guestrooms fully redesigned for a boutique-style experience. The resort will include four Margaritaville-themed restaurants, a lazy river, conference and meeting facilities, marina access with boat parking, and an on-site store to serve guests and locals.

Resorts LLC acquired the property in 2025. To facilitate renovations, all hotel employees were laid off on July 31, 2026. The renovation project was publicly announced by August 14, 2026. This project aligns with Margaritaville’s broader expansion efforts in the Houston Bay Area, including a $250 million, 334-room Margaritaville development underway on Galveston Island and the 2022 opening of Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Crystal Beach.

Kam Miramadi, CEO of Nassau Bay Resorts LLC, said, “We are excited to introduce Compass Hotel Nassau Bay and bring this new destination to the Clear Lake community, just minutes from NASA/Space Center Houston.”

The new resort aims to attract visitors, business travelers, conference attendees, boaters, and local residents by providing enhanced hospitality options with marina access and recreational amenities near NASA/Space Center Houston.
