Carnival Cruise Line has canceled nine scheduled sailings of the Carnival Jubilee from the Port of Galveston between August and December 2027. The affected cruises include six- to eight-night itineraries to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas.
The specific canceled departure dates are August 15, 21, and 29; September 12, 18, and 26; November 7; and December 5 and 11, 2027. These changes disrupt sailings during late summer through early winter, traditionally active months for Carnival’s Texas market operations.
Carnival Jubilee Ship and Operational Changes
Carnival cited revised operational plans as the reason for these cancellations without providing additional detail. Typically, such adjustments relate to fleet
scheduling optimization, required drydock periods, or strategic deployment choices.
The Carnival Jubilee is an LNG-powered Excel-class vessel with an approximate double occupancy passenger capacity of 5,400. It is one of three LNG-fueled Carnival ships, alongside Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, and operates year-round from Galveston as a key asset in the cruise line’s Texas market strategy.
Passenger Compensation and Rebooking Options
Passengers affected by the cancellations are offered a full refund covering all cruise fares and any pre-purchased add-ons such as drink or dining packages, shore excursions, and other onboard purchases.
Alternatively, passengers may rebook on other Carnival sailings at current rates, with rate protection
ensuring no increases in price. Guests who choose to rebook will receive a $50 onboard credit per person, with a maximum of $100 per stateroom, which can be used for various onboard services and amenities.
Carnival has deployed a dedicated rebooking team to assist guests in finding suitable alternative cruises that align with their preferences and original travel dates.
Itineraries and Route Expansion
The Carnival Jubilee currently operates seven-night Western Caribbean cruises from Galveston, stopping at ports such as Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico and Roatán in Honduras. These itineraries are well-established and popular within Carnival’s Texas market segment.
Starting in September 2025,
its deployments will expand to include Bahamas destinations, such as the new private port Celebration Key, along with existing private destinations like Half Moon Cay and RelaxAway in the Bahamas. These expanded six- to eight-night itineraries aim to offer greater variety and exclusive beach experiences for passengers.

Scheduled cruise cancellations for operational reasons are part of periodic adjustments cruise lines make to optimize fleet deployment and maintenance cycles. Carnival’s cancellation announcements came more than two years before the affected sailings, allowing considerable lead time for travelers to make alternate arrangements.

Carnival Cruise Line conveyed the following to affected guests: “We have revised operational plans for the Carnival Jubilee and, unfortunately, your cruise has been cancelled.” The cruise line added, “We sincerely apologise for this change and thank you for your understanding.”
The company offered compensation options to minimize disruption and emphasized ongoing support through their rebooking services.
