United Airlines will start daily year-round nonstop flights between Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut and San Francisco International Airport on March 28, 2027. Flights from Bradley will depart every evening at 6:30 p.m., linking Connecticut travelers directly with San Francisco.
United Airlines Expands Bradley Hub Networks
This new service expands United’s footprint at Bradley, which already connects the airport to five of its eight U.S. hubs: Chicago, Denver, Washington, D.C., Houston, and San Francisco. Earlier in 2026, United added nonstop service from Bradley to Houston. From San Francisco, passengers can connect to destinations across the western United States, Asia, and Oceania, expanding international travel options
via United’s west coast hub.
Facility Upgrades at Bradley International Airport
Bradley International recently completed a three-year security checkpoint expansion, adding additional corridors and lanes to enhance passenger processing. Last year, the Connecticut Airport Authority, which operates the airport, obtained over $8 million in federal funding dedicated to upgrades and improvements at Terminal A to support increased flight operations.
Official Statements on New Flights
Michael W. Shea, Executive Director and CEO of the Connecticut Airport Authority, said the nonstop San Francisco flight connects the region with a critical business and leisure destination, providing greater convenience and global access. Mark Weithofer, United’s Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning, highlighted that the daily
service will strengthen United’s commitment to the Connecticut region while offering customers increased choice and smoother connections through the airline’s global network anchored at San Francisco.
Impact on Travelers
The introduction of these nonstop evening flights will give Connecticut travelers daily direct access to the West Coast starting in 2027. Through United’s San Francisco hub, passengers can reach additional destinations in western U.S. states, Asia, and Oceania without returning to connecting flights from other hubs. The recent airport improvements will support rising passenger volumes resulting from the expanded United Airlines services.
