Avelo Airlines will launch four new nonstop routes from McKinney National Airport (DTX) in North Texas beginning December 2026. Alongside this expansion, the carrier will base a third Boeing 737-800 aircraft at the airport, further increasing its service capacity.
Beginning December 16, Avelo will start flights to Denver International Airport and Atlanta-Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, operating four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. On December 17, service will begin to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and Nashville International Airport with flights twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Prior to these additions, on November 11, Avelo will commence
flights from McKinney to Las Vegas and four Florida destinations: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa. Fares for the new routes start at $99 and include one free checked bag.
McKinney Airport Readiness and FAA Certification
McKinney National Airport received its operating certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on or before September 24, 2026. This certification follows the completion of a new passenger terminal scheduled for late 2026, enabling the airport to support commercial passenger service. Avelo is currently the sole airline to offer scheduled commercial flights from this facility, positioning McKinney as an additional airport option within the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area alongside
Dallas/Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field airports.
