Avelo Airlines will launch four additional routes from Dallas/McKinney National Airport beginning in December 2026 and add a third Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its McKinney base. The airport recently received its operating certification from the Federal Aviation Administration.
New Routes and Flight Schedules
The new flights will start on December 16 to Denver International Airport and Atlanta-Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. Services to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and Nashville International Airport will begin December 17. Denver and Atlanta flights are scheduled four times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. New Orleans and Nashville will each be served twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
Ticket prices for these routes start at $99 and include a free checked bag.
Initial November Service and Airport Certification
Avelo began flights from McKinney National Airport on November 11, 2026, initially offering routes to Las Vegas and four Florida cities. The airport’s Federal Aviation Administration certification supports expanded service from North Texas.
Airport Development and Community Response

for travelers in North Texas.
Avelo operates on a low-cost model focused on discounted base fares with paid add-ons for bags and seat selection. The budget airline sector has faced challenges from rising fuel prices and the collapse of Spirit Airlines earlier in 2026. Avelo’s expansion offers an alternative to Southwest and American Airlines in the region.
