WestJet flight attendants began a strike on August 3, 2026, cancelling over 300 flights and impacting 250,000 passengers across Canada. Mainline operations at Vancouver International Airport were suspended, while WestJet Encore flights continue.

Since March 2025, Amtrak's Hiawatha trains lost nearly 100 seats due to corrosion-related removal of Horizon cars. Nine new Siemens railcars will boost capacity to 388 passengers starting fall 2026.
