Train lines between Stevenage and London Kings Cross were closed on August 1 after a person was hit by a train. Emergency services responded, causing cancellations and delays across multiple routes.
The RMT union has scheduled three 24-hour strikes on East Midlands Railway services on August 1, 8, and 15, 2026. Strikes are in protest of safety faults in the Class 810 Aurora trains causing reduced service across key routes.
The TSSA trade union called off a planned two-day strike against West Midlands Railway scheduled for 31 July and 1 August 2026. West Midlands Railway will run a full service with a normal timetable over that weekend.
