The Ministry of Tourism sanctioned 117 projects worth ₹5,756.62 crore in two years under key central schemes to enhance India's tourism infrastructure. Projects span heritage, spiritual, eco-tourism, and iconic centres, supported by digital initiatives like the Incredible India Digital Platform and 53 new air routes under RCS-UDAN.

Tourist arrivals in Syria surged 111% to 3.52 million in the first half of 2026 versus 2025. Visitors from non-Arab countries rose 448%, while tourists from Arab countries increased 107%, say Syrian officials.
