Amtrak has introduced its latest Airo trains on the Pacific Northwest rail corridor, beginning service in 2026. This new fleet marks the deployment of advanced rail technology on the route.
The Airo trains are designed to operate at speeds up to 125 miles per hour, representing a significant improvement over previous models. In addition to faster travel, these trains deliver a substantial environmental benefit by producing approximately 90 percent fewer emissions compared to older equipment.
