AmaWaterways has revealed official renderings and launch schedules for two new Nile river cruise ships, AmaNubia and AmaDahlia. AmaNubia is set to debut in November 2026, while the reimagined AmaDahlia will begin sailing in September 2026 along the Nile River in Egypt.
AmaNubia will accommodate 76 guests across 38 staterooms. Its interior design draws inspiration from ancient Egyptian culture, including carved temple stones, the Nile River itself, and Nubian heritage. The ship offers amenities similar to its sister vessel AmaLilia, featuring locally inspired cuisine, a wellness area, a fitness center, and guided sailings with dedicated Egyptologists.
Itinerary and Accommodation Details
The AmaNubia will operate
the ‘Secrets of Egypt & the Nile’ itinerary, which provides guests access to iconic locations along the Nile River. Passengers will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence during the journey. Guests on AmaLilia have accommodations at The St. Regis Cairo, while AmaDahlia travelers stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Cairo. Optional excursions include visits to the Abu Simbel temple and High Tea at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan. Additional land extensions cover the cities of Alexandria, Dubai, and Jordan.
Expansion of AmaWaterways’ Nile Fleet
AmaWaterways’ investment in Egypt extends beyond AmaNubia and AmaDahlia, with AmaLilia already operating on the
Nile and the future AmaCleo expected to join the fleet in fall 2027. This expansion responds to increased traveler interest in Egypt’s historical and cultural offerings.
Catherine Powell, CEO of AmaWaterways, stated, “The Nile is one of the most beautiful rivers on earth. We’re thrilled to see such strong renewed interest in Egypt, as travelers seek to experience its extraordinary history, vibrant culture and warm hospitality.” The introduction of these vessels reflects the growing demand for luxury Nile river cruises and the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the region.
