Accor’s MGallery Collection has signed the Ink 48 hotel in New York City as its first U.S. flagship property, with the official brand transition scheduled for 2028. This move marks an important strategic expansion of MGallery’s upscale lifestyle portfolio in the North American market, according to the announcement in September 2026.

Ink 48 Location, Size, and Amenities

Ink 48 is situated in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood on Manhattan’s West Side, offering panoramic views of the Hudson River and New York City skyline. The hotel features 222 guestrooms, including 17 suites, and amenities such as the Hudson VU rooftop bar, the Hudson Local ground-floor restaurant, approximately 6,000

square feet of meeting and event space, and a fitness center.

Ownership and Acquisition Details

Ink 48 is co-owned by Capstone Equities, a New York-based private equity real estate investment firm, and Leyad, a Montreal-based real estate investment and management company, in a 50/50 joint venture. Leyad acquired the hotel in 2024 at a rate of $275,000 per key. Originally opened in 2009 under IHG’s Kimpton brand, Ink 48 was sold for about $82.7 million in 2019 before becoming independent and later acquired by Leyad.

Renovation and Transition Timeline

The Ink 48 hotel is set to undergo an extensive renovation and enhancement program aimed at elevating the guest

experience while preserving the hotel’s distinct character. Despite the ongoing renovation, Ink 48 will continue operating independently and is expected to officially join the MGallery Collection in 2028. Management will transfer to Rebel Hotel Company after the transition.

Official Remarks and Strategic Focus

Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, emphasized the hotel’s role in increasing brand awareness for MGallery in the United States. Andres Ramirez, Head of Asset Management at Capstone Equities, described MGallery as the ideal brand to build on Ink 48’s individuality and guest loyalty. Henry Zavriyev, President & CEO of Leyad, highlighted the partnership’s long-term vision for the

asset’s growth and alignment with MGallery.

MGallery’s Global Expansion and U.S. Market Priorities

MGallery Collection includes over 125 boutique hotels worldwide with more than 60 projects in development and nine openings planned by the end of 2026. The brand’s expansion in North America prioritizes urban and leisure destinations where travelers seek authentic design-led experiences. The United States ranks among MGallery’s top five feeder markets globally, with recent developments in major gateway cities like Seattle and New York City.

Impact on Guests and Market Position

Ink 48 will become a prominent lifestyle hotel under the MGallery Collection and will be integrated into Accor’s ALL loyalty program offerings. Following renovation, guests can expect an enhanced

urban boutique experience that retains the hotel’s unique character while presenting elevated design and immersive hospitality. The hotel’s location and features position it as a key asset in MGallery’s continuing growth in the North American market.
