Accor’s MGallery Collection has secured Ink 48 hotel in New York City as its inaugural U.S. flagship hotel, marking the brand’s first major entry into the American market. The hotel is located in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, overlooking the Hudson River. This move demonstrates Accor’s strategy to expand its portfolio in key North American gateway cities.

Ink 48 Features and Current Operations

The Ink 48 property features 222 guestrooms, including 17 suites, along with approximately 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The hotel offers a rooftop bar named Hudson VU and a ground-floor restaurant called Hudson Local. During a scheduled extensive renovation

designed to elevate the guest experience and incorporate MGallery’s brand elements, Ink 48 will continue to operate independently and remain open.

Ownership and Management Structure

Ink 48 is jointly owned by Capstone Equities, a New York-based private equity real estate firm, and Leyad, a Montreal-based real estate investment and management company. Leyad acquired the hotel in 2024 in a 50/50 joint venture with Capstone Equities for approximately $275,000 per key. The hotel was previously sold to Brookfield Properties for $82.7 million in 2019. Management of the hotel post-rebranding will be handled by Rebel Hotel Company.

Timeline for Rebranding and Official Launch

The hotel is expected to officially join the MGallery

Collection and open as the brand’s U.S. flagship in 2028 after the completion of renovation and brand integration. Rebel Hotel Company will oversee the hotel’s operations following the transition into MGallery.

Strategic Importance and Brand Expansion

Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems at Accor, highlighted the significance of adding Ink 48 to the MGallery Collection, calling New York City “one of the world’s most influential travel destinations.” Bailly emphasized that Ink 48’s strong identity and location will complement MGallery’s focus on storytelling and design, boosting brand awareness and supporting Accor’s expansion in North America. Andres Ramirez, Head of Asset Management at

Capstone Equities, noted that MGallery’s individuality aligns with Ink 48’s established sense of place and loyal guest base. Henry Zavriyev, President and CEO of Leyad, described the affiliation as a milestone reflecting confidence in the partnership with Capstone and Accor.

MGallery’s Global Footprint and Development Pipeline

With more than 125 boutique hotels worldwide and over 60 projects underway, MGallery is increasing its luxury footprint globally. The U.S. ranks among MGallery’s top five feeder markets, underpinning the strategic focus on expanding in North America. Nine openings are scheduled before the end of 2026 in locations including Mykonos, Maldives, and Dubai, demonstrating the brand’s growth momentum.

Planned Renovations and Brand Integration

The ongoing

refurbishment at Ink 48 aims to introduce MGallery’s signature brand features through enhanced design and immersive guest experiences. Despite construction, the hotel remains operational to ensure continuous service until the anticipated 2028 MGallery relaunch.

Hotel Amenities and Lifestyle Appeal

Ink 48 provides lifestyle-focused amenities such as the Hudson VU rooftop bar with panoramic views of the New York skyline and Hudson River, the Hudson Local restaurant, meeting spaces totaling about 6,000 square feet, and a fitness center. These features position the hotel as a prominent destination on Manhattan’s West Side, close to Times Square, Hudson Yards, and Broadway.
