Uptown Dallas Business Growth Drives Hotel Investment
Uptown Dallas is a prominent business and lifestyle district undergoing growth due to expanding corporate investments, particularly within financial services. Key developments include Goldman Sachs’ 800,000-square-foot campus and Morgan Stanley’s nearly $700 million regional headquarters. Regional hubs by Scotiabank and expansions by Jefferies Financial Group and UBS
in Uptown further support demand for hospitality accommodations.
Greg Friedman, CEO of Peachtree Group, said Dallas attracts substantial corporate investment, boosting its status as a top business destination. He noted, “Uptown is at the center of that growth, creating an attractive environment for hospitality investment. By bringing AC Hotel and Moxy together, we can serve a broader range of travelers while introducing a distinctive hospitality experience that reflects the neighborhood’s continued evolution.”
Statements from Peachtree Group and Marriott
John Schellhase, Peachtree Group’s vice president of investments, highlighted Dallas as a market with long-term growth potential and expressed pride in contributing to Uptown’s vitality through the new
hotel. He said the facility reflects a commitment to developments that support local economic activity and benefit both visitors and the community.
Vickie Callahan, president of Peachtree’s hospitality management division, emphasized the dual-brand strategy’s appeal: “The combination of AC Hotel and Moxy allows us to appeal to a broader range of travelers while creating operational efficiencies and a more dynamic guest experience.” The arrangement leverages shared amenities to engage hotel guests and the surrounding community.
Impact on Visitors and Hospitality Options in Uptown
Located in the core of Uptown Dallas, the property expands lodging capacity for business travelers and tourists. The dual-branded model offers diverse accommodations and introduces
expanded dining, meeting, and entertainment options, enriching Uptown’s hospitality landscape for both visitors and local residents.
Peachtree Group’s Expanding Texas Hospitality Portfolio
This opening adds to Peachtree Group’s growing hotel portfolio in Texas. Their recent launch includes the 171-room Residence Inn San Antonio Riverwalk, and they have initiated construction on a 480-room dual-branded Embassy Suites by Hilton and Tempo by Hilton property in downtown Austin. The company focuses on hospitality assets in high-growth markets influenced by expanding business activity and diverse demand factors.
