The Rimrock Hotel in Banff, Canada, finalized a $115 million property-wide renovation and officially reopened on October 5, 2026. The hotel became the first North American property to join Accor’s Emblems Collection, a designation reserved exclusively for luxury five-star resorts.
Redesigned Accommodations Offer Mountain Views
The extensive refurbishment includes 320 redesigned guest rooms and 57 suites, with layouts maximizing views of the Canadian Rockies. The resort’s largest accommodation, an infinity two-bedroom suite, features a 1,260-square-foot wraparound terrace equipped with a barrel sauna and fire table. The property also offers over 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space spread across 11 venues.
New Wellness and Movement Facilities
The transformation introduced
a 9,600-square-foot hydrothermal wellness bathhouse, Banff’s first luxury facility of its kind. Amenities include indoor and outdoor thermal pools, a vitality pool, a mountain-facing infinity pool, saunas, an aromatic steam room, cold plunges, a meditation room, and a sensory room designed for relaxation. Complementing this, a 3,800-square-foot Movement Center features fitness equipment, climbing and bouldering walls, guided classes, and recovery programs.
Expanded Dining Options Featuring Local Ingredients
Guests can dine at four new venues incorporating menus inspired by northern Canadian ingredients. Parker’s Table serves as the signature restaurant with seasonal dishes sourced from local farmers, fishers, and foragers. Rimrock Social offers coffee, food, and cocktails in
a gathering space, while The Listening Room provides an intimate setting for wine, spirits, and vinyl music. Rimrock Market offers specialty coffee and provisions in a casual mountain-inspired atmosphere. The resort also integrates Alberta-produced honey into its food and beverage selections, including a signature arrival drink and wellness tonics.
Customized Outdoor Adventures at the Expeditions Centre
The hotel features an Expeditions Centre where a team led by the resort’s master pathfinder curates personalized outdoor experiences. More than 50 seasonal activities are offered, including guided hikes, forest bathing, alpine yoga, canyon ice walks, Indigenous cultural experiences, glacier excursions to Athabasca Glacier, and northern lights wake-up calls when conditions
permit.
Design Philosophy and Natural Integration
The redesign, led by California-based Studio Collective, emphasizes a strong connection with the surrounding Canadian Rockies. The hotel incorporates floor-to-ceiling windows, natural materials, and contemporary artwork inspired by the landscape. Rimrock Banff general manager David Garcelon stated, “The resort, across the decades of its history, has always been defined by its remarkable setting. This transformation was guided by a simple philosophy: create a resort that feels inseparable from the landscape itself.”
