On 9 October 2026, Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee and Air Arabia held discussions on expanding air connectivity and introducing new flight routes to the country. Air Arabia currently operates flights to Tashkent and Namangan, with the Tashkent-Sharjah and Tashkent-Abu Dhabi routes serving a combined total of 13 flights weekly, according to reports from the Tourism Committee.
Proposed New Destinations and Increased Flight Frequencies
The meeting explored possibilities for launching direct flights from Air Arabia to additional Uzbek destinations such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. Plans also considered raising the frequency of existing flights between Tashkent and Sharjah and between Tashkent and Abu Dhabi. The airline’s global network could
facilitate attracting transit tourists from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North Africa to Uzbekistan.
Joint Promotional Campaigns and Influencer Involvement
Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee and Air Arabia agreed to focus on promoting tourism through the airline’s digital channels in selected international markets. The collaboration includes preparing tailored tourism packages and launching joint marketing campaigns. Air Arabia committed to supporting familiarization trips for bloggers, influencers, tour operators, and media representatives, covering airfare expenses for participating influencers and bloggers involved in promotional efforts.
Tourism Infrastructure and Umrah Plus Collaboration
Air Arabia noted improvements in Uzbekistan’s tourism infrastructure over the past decade, including the emergence of modern hotels and a wide variety of accommodation options.
The airline also expressed willingness to assist in developing the Umrah Plus tourism project as a distinct product, aiming to diversify tourism offerings.
Upcoming Tourism Events and Informational Material Distribution
Air Arabia representatives have been invited to take part in the 31st Tashkent International Tourism Fair, “Tourism on the Silk Road,” scheduled for November 2026. The airline will also attend the Investment Forum and MICE Tourism Conference associated with the fair. Plans are in place to distribute informational materials about Uzbekistan’s tourist attractions aboard Air Arabia flights to passengers traveling from Europe and other target markets.
