Southwest Airlines will begin three new nonstop flights from Pittsburgh International Airport on June 5, 2027, expanding its service in the region.

New Destinations and Saturday-Only Service

The new nonstop routes from Pittsburgh will connect travelers to Panama City, Florida; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Savannah, Georgia. These flights will operate exclusively on Saturdays starting in June 2027.

Increased Flight Frequencies on Existing Routes

Alongside new destinations, Southwest Airlines will boost flight frequencies to several current routes from Pittsburgh. Service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Florida, will increase from once weekly to daily flights during summer 2027. Flights to Cancun, Mexico, will rise to about two per week. Daily flights to Tampa,

Florida, will quadruple to four each day, and Las Vegas, Nevada, will see flights double to two daily departures.

After these expansions, Southwest will operate 25 nonstop routes out of Pittsburgh International Airport, the highest number among all airlines at the airport.

Southwest Airlines currently holds a 26% share of passenger traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport, surpassing American Airlines, which accounts for 23% of travelers.

These service increases provide Pittsburgh travelers with more nonstop destination options and higher flight availability to popular locations, enhancing convenience and choices from the airport.
