A strike by employees of the ground handling company Alyzia at Brussels Airport will start on October 9, 2026, leading to flight cancellations this week. The industrial action is described as a “national manifestation.”

Approximately half of the flights managed by Alyzia at Brussels Airport are expected to be cancelled. Flights handled by Aviapartner, the other ground handler at the airport, are not anticipated to be affected by the strike.

Passengers with flights processed by Alyzia should anticipate cancellations and consider alternative travel options. Airlines will notify affected customers directly about changes. The official Brussels Airport website will display confirmed

cancellations as they are updated.

Brussels Airport issued a statement saying: “We regret the inconvenience caused by this union action.”

Trade union action is also planned for October 12, 2026, in the Brussels area; however, this is expected to impact public transportation only and not air traffic at Brussels Airport.
