Flights at Brussels Airport in Belgium will be cancelled starting October 9, 2026, as some employees of ground handling company Alyzia join a strike. The industrial action will impact a major European hub airport operated by Brussels Airport.
It is estimated that half of the flights managed by Alyzia at Brussels Airport will be cancelled on the strike day. Airlines and passengers relying on this ground handling provider are expected to face cancellations, while flights handled by another company at the airport, Aviapartner, will not be affected. Passengers should verify whether their flight is handled by Alyzia and monitor official
communications for confirmed cancellations.
The strike action results from a national manifestation involving Alyzia employees. Additional trade union industrial activity is scheduled for October 12, 2026, but this later action is not expected to disrupt air traffic at Brussels Airport. However, public transport in the area may be affected on that date due to related union activity.
Brussels Airport has expressed regret over the disruption, stating: “We regret the inconvenience caused by this union action.” Information on flight cancellations and updates will be posted on the Brussels Airport website as they are confirmed.
