Ground handling staff employed by Alyzia at Brussels Airport begin a strike on October 9, 2026, causing cancellations for approximately half of the flights they manage. The strike is described as a “national manifestation” by some Alyzia staff and is expected to affect flight schedules notably on October 9.

Flight Impact and Passenger Guidance

The airport estimates that half of the flights handled by Alyzia will be cancelled during the strike, while flights managed by Aviapartner at Brussels Airport will not be affected. Passengers flying on Alyzia-handled flights should anticipate possible cancellations and are advised to check if their flights are handled by Alyzia. Airlines

will notify passengers about any changes, and confirmed cancellations will be posted on Brussels Airport’s official website.

Airport Official Statement and Further Dates

Brussels Airport issued a statement saying, “We regret the inconvenience caused by this union action,” and reassured that flights handled by Aviapartner will continue without disruption. Another trade union action is scheduled for October 12, 2026. While it is not expected to impact air traffic, it may affect public transport services around Brussels Airport.

Passengers are encouraged to monitor airline notifications and Brussels Airport updates concerning cancellations and the trade union actions on October 9 and October 12.
