Geggs Getaways, a Blackpool-based travel agency under Homeworking by Inspire, hosted its first travel show at Blackpool Stanley Park Golf Club on September 24, 2026. The event attracted over 200 attendees and resulted in £11,000 in confirmed bookings on the night. Additionally, the show generated £50,000 worth of travel enquiries that are currently being pursued by the agency.
Exhibitors and Holiday Trends
Thirteen travel suppliers exhibited, including major cruise lines MSC Cruises, Marella Cruises, P&O Cruises, and Crystal Cruises. Other participants included Newmarket Holidays, Africa & Beyond, First Class Holidays, Ocean Florida, Holiday Best, Gold Medal, Attraction World, Red Sea Holidays, and Domes Resorts.
Geggs Getaways highlighted its partnerships with Transun, Wendy Wu Tours, easyJet Holidays, and Railbookers. Cruise and Florida vacations were particularly sought after by visitors.
Support from Homeworking by Inspire
Homeworking by Inspire played an instrumental role in organising the event by securing exhibitors, raffle prizes, and providing marketing support. Three members from Inspire’s head office attended: Sam Fisher (head of business development and training), Stacey Wilson (onboarding and travel success manager), and Alice Victoria Whalley (travel success manager).
Fundraising Efforts and Raffle
A raffle held during the event raised £500 for Dementia UK. Prizes included a three-night stay at Palazzo Versace Dubai, donated by Galaxi, providing attendees not only
a travel opportunity but also contributing to charity.
Ryan Anthoney, agency owner of Geggs Getaways, said, “We were blown away by the response to our first Travel Show. Welcoming more than 200 people through the doors and taking bookings on the night showed just how much appetite there is for face-to-face travel advice in our community.” He added gratitude for supplier support and announced plans for a future event.
Inspire Group chief executive Lisa Henning commented, “Supporting our agents to make events like this happen is exactly what we’re here for. It’s a great example of how independent homeworking agents
can drive business in their community and raise their local profile.” She noted the event’s role in expanding Geggs Getaways’ customer base.
