Getaria Town Council approved a Fiscal Ordinance establishing a Tourist Stay Tax, with six votes from EH Bildu in favor and five abstentions from EAJ. This ordinance formalizes a tax applied to stays in accommodations within the town.

The Tourist Stay Tax will take effect on January 1, 2027. Accommodation providers in Getaria will be notified of the new tax, which is designed to generate revenue to support local tourism and community projects along the Euskadi coast.
