American Cruise Lines officially christened its newest vessel, the American Ranger, on the Hudson River in late September 2026. This ship is the cruise line’s fourth in the Patriot Class and can accommodate 130 guests in all balcony staterooms.
The American Ranger features a mix of suites and single staterooms and offers a range of amenities including a top deck lounge with a walking track, a main restaurant, a casual café, a fitness center, and a laundry room. The ship currently operates on Hudson River cruises between New York City and Albany, New York, with stops at Catskill, West Point,
Sleepy Hollow, and Kingston/Hyde Park.
Fleet Expansion Plans
This launch marks American Cruise Lines’ third new ship introduction in 2026. The company plans to further expand its fleet in 2027 with three additional ships: American Mariner, American Navigator, and American Anthem. These new vessels will continue to enhance cruising options on both river and coastal routes within the United States.
Charles B. Robertson, president and CEO of American Cruise Lines, stated, “Today, American Ranger assumes the mantle as the newest cruise ship in the country, but won’t hold the title for long, as she will be quickly followed by three more new ships
launching in 2027.” The addition of American Ranger broadens passenger choices on the Hudson River, introducing updated accommodations and onboard facilities.
