Disney Cruise Line has expanded its Onboard Offer Placeholder Reservation discount list to include additional sailings through September 2027. Guests applying a Placeholder Reservation to these newly added cruises can save up to 25% off the voyage fare. The program requires a refundable deposit of $250 per stateroom and limits bookings to one future cruise per household, covering a maximum of two staterooms.
Discount Tiers, Itineraries, and Booking Requirements
Most eligible sailings qualify for a 10% discount off the voyage fare when booked using a Placeholder Reservation. Certain select sailings offer deeper discounts of 20% or 25%. Additionally, travelers booking Concierge Stateroom categories 02B and lower
on select sailings can receive an extra 10% off the voyage fare, subject to blockout dates that vary by sailing and discount tier. The expanded list encompasses Bahamian, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Baja, Alaskan, and Singapore itineraries. Some of the newly added sailings feature special event cruises such as Marvel Days at Sea and Pixar Days at Sea. Placeholder Reservations must be made while guests are still onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship and must be converted to a confirmed booking before applying the discounts.
Impact on Existing Bookings and Discount Adjustments
Guests holding existing Placeholder Reservations for sailings now included in the updated discount list will automatically
receive any higher applicable discount without needing to rebook. Those who have fully paid will be refunded the difference to their original payment method. Disney Cruise Line has begun sending SeaMail notifications to inform affected guests of increased discounts. The discount applies exclusively to the voyage fare and excludes taxes, fees, and port expenses. The offer cannot be combined with other promotions, including the Guaranteed Staterooms with Restrictions discount.
Booking Process and Policy Terms
To convert a Placeholder Reservation into a confirmed booking, guests can use the Disney Cruise Line My Reservations portal, call the Contact Center, or consult a travel advisor. Households booking two
staterooms on the same sailing must call the Contact Center directly, as online conversion for multiple staterooms is not supported. The $250 deposit is refundable if canceled before booking confirmation. Once converted, bookings cannot revert to Placeholder Reservations and are subject to standard cancellation fees. At least one member from the original sailing party must sail on one of the staterooms booked under the Placeholder Reservation program.
