Disney Cruise Line has extended its Onboard Offer Placeholder Reservation discount program to include sailings through September 2027. Guests who apply a Placeholder Reservation to these newly added cruises can receive discounts of up to 25% off the voyage fare. Most eligible sailings are subject to a 10% discount, while select itineraries qualify for larger discounts of 20% or 25%.
Placeholder Reservation Booking Details
The Placeholder Reservation requires a $250 refundable deposit per stateroom, payable onboard during the current cruise. Each household can secure only one future booking, limited to a maximum of two staterooms. Reservations must be converted into a confirmed booking before
the future cruise departure date, which may be up to 24 months ahead. At least one member of the original sailing party must be included in the new booking. Once a Placeholder Reservation has been converted, it cannot be reverted and standard cancellation policies apply. Discounts apply solely to the voyage fare and do not extend to taxes, fees, or port expenses.
Eligible Itineraries and Special Sailing Events
The expanded discount list covers a broad range of itineraries including Bahamian, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Baja, Alaskan, and Singapore sailings. Several of the new sailings encompass special events such as Marvel Days at Sea and Pixar Days at
Sea. Concierge Staterooms in category 02B and below on select cruises can receive an additional 10% discount on the voyage fare with a Placeholder Reservation, subject to specific blockout dates.
Impact on Current Placeholder Reservations and Guest Options
Guests holding existing Placeholder Reservations for cruises now eligible for higher discounts will receive automatic adjustments without needing to rebook. For those who paid in full, Disney Cruise Line will refund the difference to the original form of payment. Notifications of discount increases are sent via SeaMail. Guests can convert Placeholder Reservations to confirmed bookings through My Reservations online, the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center, or through travel advisors. Households
with two stateroom Placeholder Reservations for the same sailing must contact the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center directly for conversion.
