Princess Cruises announced on September 28, 2026, the launch of the first AI-powered cruise planning application integrated natively within ChatGPT. This app uses large language model (LLM) technology to connect travelers to Princess Cruises’ real-time cruise planning, pricing, and availability data.
App Enables Seamless Conversational Cruise Planning
The new app allows users to explore more than 330 cruise destinations offered across Princess Cruises’ fleet of 17 ships, including the recently launched Star Princess in October 2025. Travelers can check itineraries, compare pricing and availability, and refine cruise plans conversationally within the same ChatGPT session. The interface supports natural language queries to improve cruise discovery and booking
efficiency.
Simplified Travel Discovery Including Alaska and Glacier Bay
Using the app, travelers can easily plan trips such as Alaska cruises with stops at Glacier Bay National Park and departures from Seattle. The integration allows ongoing itinerary adjustments via follow-up questions without leaving the ChatGPT conversation. Destinations supported include the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mexican Riviera, Europe, South America, Australia/New Zealand, South Pacific, Hawaii, Asia, Canada/New England, Antarctica, and World Cruises.
Industry Leaders Cite Shift Toward AI-Driven Travel Planning
Neena Vicente, Vice President of Digital Commerce and Experience at Princess Cruises, said, “There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to find information, but to help evaluate choices and
plan increasingly complex trips.” She added that this app places Princess Cruises at the forefront of agentic commerce in cruising by creating innovative entry points for cruise discovery.
Andrew Boch, CEO of Mobi, praised Princess Cruises’ early adoption of AI, stating, “Princess has been remarkably forward-thinking about how AI will reshape the way travelers discover and engage with brands. Being the first global cruise line to bring its experience directly into LLMs reflects that vision.” He noted the foundation laid by Princess Cruises could provide a competitive advantage as AI channels gain importance in travel.
Rosemary DeAragon, Head of Technology
& Consumer Industries at OpenAI, said the app demonstrates collaboration between AI platforms and travel brands to make trip planning “more seamless, useful and conversational.” She highlighted ChatGPT’s role in helping users move from discovery to action in the cruise sector.
Princess Cruises’ Market Position and Future Plans for the AI App
Princess Cruises, known as The Love Boat, is a global cruise leader and part of Carnival Corporation, which operates over 800 ports and destinations worldwide. The cruise line offers luxury amenities and tailored services across its fleet, including Star Princess, launched in October 2025 as the newest ship.
The AI-powered app is currently available exclusively through ChatGPT. Princess Cruises
plans to expand the app’s availability to other artificial intelligence platforms in the future, depending on technical feasibility and market opportunities.
