1 Hotels is opening a new property in Austin, Texas, located in the tallest tower in the state within the Rainey Street District. The 252-room and suite hotel will emphasize nature-inspired interiors with abundant plants, reflecting the brand’s wellness and sustainability focus under Barry Sternlicht’s revived Starwood group. The hotel includes a restaurant run by James Beard nominee Johnny Curiel, a wine bar, Bamford Wellness Spa, and a rooftop pool offering expansive views of the Texas sky. The property is scheduled to open around late September 2026.
Hyatt Opens Adults-Only All-Inclusive in Punta Cana
Hyatt has launched Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana, an adults-only, all-inclusive resort near Punta
Cana airport in the Dominican Republic. The resort features 467 guest rooms and targets social explorers, conscious connectors, and digital nomads. Dining options include five elevated restaurants, seven bars and lounges with premium drinks, and a wellness cafe. Activities include DJ sets, spa rituals, holistic experiences, and creative workshops. Cash rates start from about $390 per night, with World of Hyatt award nights ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 points.

Aman announced plans to open Amanolu, a 52-key resort with 16 branded residences, on the Maldives’ Vaavu Atoll in 2028. Amanolu’s name combines the Sanskrit word for peace, “Aman,” with “Olu,”
inspired by the water lily, symbolizing serenity and nature connection. The resort will feature an 82-foot swimming pool and an Aman Spa.
Hilton expanded its presence with Santorini Sky joining the Small Luxury Hotels portfolio. This year-round resort sits at the highest point on Santorini island, offering rooms with large outdoor areas, private heated pools, and Jacuzzis.
