Amanera, located on the Playa Grande beachfront in the Dominican Republic, operates 24 casitas and one larger casa. Nightly rates exceed $3,700 during high season, including breakfast, Champagne, in-room non-alcoholic refreshments, afternoon tea, snacks, wellness facilities, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
The Aman Group manages 36 ultra-luxury hotels across 21 global destinations. The brand emphasizes privacy, exclusivity, and remote retreats, cultivating long-term guest relationships over high volume business. The name “Aman” translates to “peace” in Sanskrit.
Aman properties record guest preferences globally to personalize service. William Gingras, who runs Montreal-based luxury concierge Arthur Majordome, explained the brand’s focus on repeat guests
rather than volume margins. “If, for example, you don’t want any alcohol in your room, but want specialized tea, once you say it for the first time, you never have to repeat yourself,” Gingras said. Guests who visit Aman seven times earn an “Aman Junkie” T-shirt, representing their loyalty and early access to exclusive perks.
Guests at Amanera enjoy membership access to the Playa Grande Golf Course. Amanyara in Turks and Caicos complements this with 38 pavilions and 19 villas offering a mobility and recovery wellness program vetted by tennis star Novak Djokovic. Sports clinics have been led by Maria
Sharapova, Leylah Fernandez, and NBA player Kevin Love. Both properties offer VIP airport services; Amanera guests have a 90-minute private transfer from Puerto Plata airport, while Amanyara is a 25-minute drive from Providenciales airport.
Retired baseball player Alex Rodriguez invested more than US$1 billion into developing the Playa Grande coast, including a new nearby airport catering to Amanera and multimillion-dollar oceanfront casas sales as part of the resort’s expansion plan.
A 2025 Virtuoso survey of 2,485 luxury travel advisers from over 50 countries found that 45% report increased client demand for “unlimited luxury” travel, defined by privacy and exclusivity. Aman
is expanding globally with recent resort launches in Baja, Mexico, and Bangkok, as well as upcoming properties in the Bahamas. This growth occurs alongside continued demand for secluded, personalized luxury experiences.
Olivier Lordonnois, Aman Group’s managing director for the Americas, stated guests should feel like they are visiting a wealthy friend’s inviting home rather than a service-driven resort. Aman balances global expansion with maintaining exclusivity to meet the expectations of its loyal clientele.
