TUI Airlines announced its summer 2027 flight schedule featuring 25 new routes and an increase of approximately 640,000 seats across its European network. This 4.6% capacity rise over summer 2026 will bring TUI’s total seat offering to around 17 million across 84,000 flights. The new schedule follows the consolidation of five national operators into a single commercial airline.
London Gatwick Gains Eight New Destinations
London Gatwick Airport will see the largest growth with eight brand-new destinations added, increasing TUI’s Gatwick network to 59 total locations. New routes include Athens and Mytilene (Lesbos) in Greece, Palermo in Sicily, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, and Valencia in Spain, plus
Tangier in Morocco and Djerba in Tunisia. Most of these new routes will operate between two and three times per week, enhancing travel options across the Mediterranean and North Africa.
Cutbacks at London Luton and Dublin Airports
TUI is reducing departures from London Luton and Dublin Airports as part of its strategy to consolidate operations at higher demand hubs. Passengers in these areas may need to travel via Gatwick or Manchester or consider alternate airlines to reach some destinations, reflecting a network shift aimed at strengthening key airports.
Expanded Continental Services and Fleet Upgrades
Continental hubs will also experience network growth. Düsseldorf Airport will receive a twice-weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Curacao,
alongside new routes to Malaga, Naples, Venice, and Ljubljana. Hanover will add flights to Malaga and Olbia in Sardinia. Amsterdam will launch a twice-weekly Dreamliner service to Kilimanjaro via Zanzibar and plans to introduce its Boeing 737-10 fleet in the second quarter of 2027, pending certification. Belgian airports Liege and Antwerp will lose some departures, but frequencies on routes to Majorca, the Canaries, and Marrakech will increase.
This expanded route network leverages TUI’s approximately 130-aircraft fleet and reflects a shift towards selling more seat-only fares to compete with budget scheduled carriers, alongside traditional package holidays.
