Daryl Donatelli, a Boston traveler, faced consecutive cancellations on flights scheduled first for Saturday night and then Sunday night. “I was watching all the FAA warnings, and there was this ground stop on, then off, then on again and off again, and
it’s been really uncertain,” Donatelli said. He was originally booked on a direct flight from Boston to Paris that was cancelled, and the replacement flight was cancelled as well.
Cheryl Draves, an athletic director and cheer coach for a Florida high school team, reported her team’s return flight from Boston to Orlando was cancelled on Saturday. The group now faces waiting until Monday or Tuesday to depart. Draves spent six hours at Logan trying to secure new travel arrangements and expressed concern for the teenage students stranded far from home. “My concern is more about my girls because, you know,
they’re away from home, and they’re away from their parents, and to be thousands of miles — a thousand miles away is a lot for teenage girls,” she said. The team’s originally planned two-night stay has extended to at least four nights due to the cancellations.
