TUI Airlines unveiled plans for summer 2027 including 25 new routes and an increase of approximately 640,000 seats across Europe. The 4.6% capacity rise over summer 2026 brings TUI’s total output to 17 million seats across 84,000 flights, marking the first unified schedule since merging five national airlines into one commercial operation.
Expansion at London Gatwick Airport
London Gatwick Airport will host eight new TUI routes in summer 2027, raising its network to 59 destinations. New services are scheduled to operate mostly two to three times per week. Destinations launching from Gatwick include Athens and Mytilene (Lesbos) in Greece; Palermo in Sicily; Santiago de Compostela,
Seville, and Valencia in Spain; Tangier in Morocco; and the Tunisian island of Djerba.
Consolidation at London Luton and Dublin Airports
TUI is reducing its flight operations from London Luton and Dublin airports as part of a consolidation strategy focusing on higher-demand hubs. Travelers based in these regions may need to connect via London Gatwick or Manchester, or seek alternative carriers due to fewer available TUI departures.
New Routes and Fleet Expansion at Continental Hubs
German hubs Düsseldorf and Hanover will see new routes added for summer 2027 along with increased flight frequencies. Düsseldorf will operate a twice-weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Curacao and launch new connections to Malaga, Naples, Venice, and Ljubljana. Hanover
will offer new direct flights to Malaga and Olbia on Sardinia.
Amsterdam Airport gains a twice-weekly Boeing 787 service to Kilimanjaro via Zanzibar and is scheduled to introduce TUI’s Boeing 737-10 fleet in the second quarter of 2027, pending certification. In Belgium, departure reductions at Liege and Antwerp are offset by increased frequencies on routes to Majorca, the Canary Islands, and Marrakech.
TUI’s Competitive Strategy and Traveler Guidance
TUI’s 2027 program continues building on its combined package holiday and expanded seat-only sales model to compete with budget scheduled carriers. The airline is opening more seat-only fares to independent travelers and third-party tour operators. Passengers are advised
