Aeroméxico announced new nonstop flights from Mexico City International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Nassau, Bahamas, scheduled to begin in March 2027. These will be the first nonstop services between Mexico and these Caribbean destinations. The Mexico City to Montego Bay route will start on March 18, 2027, operating three times weekly on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Nassau flights will launch one day later on March 19, 2027, with service also three times per week on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Flight Schedule, Aircraft, and Approvals
Flights departing from Mexico City to Montego Bay will leave at 9:20 a.m. local time and arrive at 2:00
p.m. Montego Bay return flights depart at 3:15 p.m. and arrive in Mexico City at 6:20 p.m. Nassau service from Mexico City is scheduled to depart at 9:10 a.m., arriving at 3:00 p.m., with return flights leaving Nassau at 4:15 p.m. and reaching Mexico City at 6:30 p.m. Both routes are planned to use Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with 166 seats, pending government authorization.
Aeroméxico’s Caribbean Expansion and Executive Statements
Aeroméxico currently operates nonstop flights from Mexico City to Caribbean destinations including Punta Cana and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and Havana, Cuba. Andrés Conesa, Aeroméxico’s CEO, said the airline aims to strengthen its
international market leadership and expand passenger access to iconic destinations. Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Giancarlo Mulinelli, highlighted that the new routes will offer travelers direct access to diverse tourism, culinary, and cultural experiences from a centralized hub in Mexico City.
Benefits for Passengers and Market Positioning
The nonstop connections will eliminate the need for Mexico travelers to connect through U.S. or Panamanian airports when visiting Jamaica or the Bahamas. This launch brings direct accessibility to these Caribbean locations starting March 18 and 19, 2027. Conesa stated, “We continue to strengthen the ‘Eagle Knight’s’ leadership position in the international market and bring our passengers closer
to the world’s most iconic destinations.” Mulinelli added, “These new routes will provide passengers with direct access to an extraordinary range of tourism, culinary, and cultural offerings, while strengthening our connectivity from Mexico City.”
In preparation for Holy Week 2027 (March 21–28), Aeroméxico plans to offer more than 4,000 weekly seats to Caribbean destinations across 27 weekly flights, underscoring its commitment to growing its presence in this region.
