Aeroméxico announced it will operate nonstop flights from Mexico City International Airport to Nassau, Bahamas, and Montego Bay, Jamaica, marking the first direct air connections between Mexico and these Caribbean destinations.
Flight Schedules and Aircraft Details
The Mexico City to Montego Bay route launches on March 18, 2027, with flights running three times a week on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Departures from Mexico City are set for 9:20 a.m., arriving in Montego Bay at 2:00 p.m. local time. Return flights leave Montego Bay at 3:15 p.m., landing in Mexico City at 6:20 p.m.
Service to Nassau begins one day later on March 19, 2027. These
flights also operate three times weekly on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, departing Mexico City at 9:10 a.m. and arriving in Nassau at 3:00 p.m. Returns depart Nassau at 4:15 p.m., arriving Mexico City at 6:30 p.m. Both routes will be flown on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft configured with 166 passenger seats.
Prior Travel Routes and Caribbean Network
Before these direct flights, passengers traveling from Mexico to Jamaica or the Bahamas had to make connecting stops in the United States or Panama. Aeroméxico currently operates nonstop flights from Mexico City to Caribbean destinations including Punta Cana and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, as well as
Havana, Cuba.
Statements and Authorizations
Andrés Conesa, Aeroméxico’s CEO, highlighted the airline’s expanding international presence, stating, “We continue to strengthen the ‘Eagle Knight’s’ leadership position in the international market and bring our passengers closer to the world’s most iconic destinations.” The “Eagle Knight” refers to Aeroméxico’s logo displayed on its aircraft tails.
Giancarlo Mulinelli, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Aeroméxico, emphasized the benefits of the new routes, saying, “These new routes will provide passengers with direct access to an extraordinary range of tourism, culinary, and cultural offerings, while strengthening our connectivity from Mexico City.”
According to Mexican newspaper El Universal, both
routes are pending government approval. If authorized, the flights will begin operating as planned in March 2027.
During Holy Week 2027 (March 21 to 28), Aeroméxico plans to offer more than 4,000 weekly seats and 27 weekly frequencies to Caribbean destinations, reflecting increased capacity to meet travel demand in the region.
