Omar Al Hosari, President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport, stated these new routes are part of a broader plan to develop Syria’s national carrier network. The goal is to strengthen direct air connectivity between Syria and Europe.
Regulatory and Operational Preparations
The launch of the Copenhagen and Vienna flights followed the completion of necessary regulatory approvals and operational coordination with aviation authorities and relevant airports.
Technical, commercial, ground handling, and support services were finalized to ensure the routes are ready for service.
Passenger Benefits and Network Development
The new direct flights will provide passengers, particularly Syrians residing in Europe, with more travel options. By reducing dependency on connecting flights, these routes are expected to cut journey times and lower travel costs.
