Syrian Airlines will start direct flights to Copenhagen on September 21, 2026, followed by Vienna on September 22, 2026, increasing its European destinations to three alongside Amsterdam.
The additions are part of plans by Syrian Airlines to expand its network and strengthen direct air links between Syria and Europe. Omar Al Hosari, President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport, emphasized that these new routes aim to improve connectivity and offer more travel options for passengers.
Launching these international routes involves completing necessary regulatory and operational procedures, including securing approvals from aviation authorities and airport coordination. Al
Hosari noted that technical, commercial, and ground handling arrangements must be finalized to enable sustainable operations on these flights.
The new direct services to Copenhagen and Vienna are expected to reduce the need for connecting flights for travelers between Syria and Europe. This will help cut journey times and associated costs, particularly benefiting Syrians living in Europe and other passengers.
Efforts to further expand Syrian Airlines’ network to include additional European and regional destinations remain underway. New routes will be announced gradually as each fulfills the required operational and regulatory conditions, according to official statements reported by Gulf News.
